Evidence-Based
Psychological Treatment

My treatment practice provides support for individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of difficulties. I enjoy treating people from all walks of life. the process

  1. We meet and exchange greetings.

  2. The reasons for the meeting and the limits of confidentiality are reviewed and agreed upon.

  3. Treatment goals are identified, reviewed, and agreed upon.

  4. Depending upon the nature of concerns being addressed, we may administer a few very brief evidence-based screening questionnaires related to anxiety, depression, physical pain, sleep, cognitive functioning, disability, couples’ relationship dynamics, and so on. These measures may be completed early in the course of treatment, between sessions, and sometimes on an ongoing basis to track treatment progress.

  5. The treatment session is conducted, with symptoms, impairments, and treatment goals in mind.

  6. At the end of each session, we review and summarize, including diagnostic feedback, treatment recommendations, and very often “take aways”  wherein a few learnings, thoughts, and/or realizations from the session are articulated by the client(s). These take-aways often help solidify any gains and/or cognitive shifts made as a result of our session.

  7. Recommended readings, worksheets, social media resources, or other homework exercises are often suggested, though not always.

  8. We schedule the next session as appropriate/desired and decide upon a mutually agreeable time.
